Even in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, and with California facing a $68 billion budget deficit, some politicians want to increase the burdens on taxpayers.
In the state Assembly, Chris Holden co-authored a proposed constitutional amendment that would dismantle the taxpayer protections of Prop 13, leading to higher property taxes.1
Holden has voted for higher taxes repeatedly. Just in the last five years, he’s voted 64 times to raise taxes and fees, by more than $180.4 billion, according to the non-partisan California Tax Foundation.2 Holden voted to raise taxes or fees on everything from phones to funerals.
Now is the time to reduce burdens on families and homeowners.
